A comprehensive tool for managing a company that is a manufacturing and project organisation.

Project-oriented companies are characterised by corporate processes that support the delivery of unique orders. Although unique orders may have a common basis, they differ from each other in many aspects such as the scope of the work, technical adaptation and individualisation of the order according to the customer’s requirements, the time schedule of the order, etc. 

Our ERP solution offers a comprehensive tool for managing a company that is a manufacturing and project organisation. The entire solution is built using Microsoft’s Dynamics 365 products, which are integrated into a single unit with a unified database and provide a comprehensive online view of business processes. It is characterised by considerable parameterisation and customisation according to the nature of the projects. The solution for project-oriented companies has 4 main parts, sales and marketing, project production-project management, follow-up service, and support, reporting and controlling.

Sales and marketing

The sales and marketing support section covers the company’s standard commercial activities, but with an overlay of project preparation activities. This is particularly the case for large-scale projects, where the preparation of a commercial offer may involve preparatory project work such as design drawings. The sales and marketing part of the solution includes:

  • obtaining, managing and tracking business opportunities,
  • communication with potential customers,
  • creation of sales campaigns, their monitoring and evaluation,
  • management of sales teams and their activities,
  • managing commercial offers,
  • management of business documentation such as marketing materials, templates of commercial offers, business contracts, etc.

Project-based production

Although the information system offers the full range of standard functions common to such systems, the solution is primarily oriented towards project management. A project as a basic building block of the entire solution provides the user with a comprehensive view of all company processes related to the project. Production management processes are an integral part of the project. As a rule, this concerns discrete production.

The beginning of everything is the establishment of the project, which includes:

a project plan, i.e., time schedule, definition of project stages and steps to the required detail, project milestones, planning of own production and subcontractor capacities,

a project cost and revenue plan, a project budget, expected invoicing according to the progress of the project,

keeping records of project documentation, e.g., tenders, orders, contracts, certificates, etc.

  • status of individual production orders in the project,
  • status of the project budget fulfilment, i.e., costs, including notification of the approaching exhaustion of individual budget costs, issued orders, status of revenue performance and expected invoicing of subsequent stages.

Tools are available for change management of the project, i.e., for changes to the schedule and budget, including the history of changes and changes to the scope of the plan. All changes to the budget may be subject to an approval procedure, including recording of supporting documentation.

This can be said to be a different form of implementation project with certain differences. The solution covers the following administrative work:

  • service contracts including SLA parameters, records of delivered components and their warranties,
  • performance of regular servicing operations, servicing on request, and records of servicing interventions including documentation,
  • supply of servicing materials and consumables,
  • servicing capacity planning,
  • support for periodic invoicing of delivered services.
